Credit Officer (Assistant Vice President / Associate), Financial Institutions, Institutional Banking Group

Our IBG - Corporate & Investment Banking is responsible for driving core advisory relationships to corporate customers across a range of industries. These include telecommunications, media and technology; real estate; energy, chemical and infrastructure; shipping and aviation; financial institutions; manufacturing; multi-industries and commerce and the public sector.

We also have a team that raises debt capital for our customers in the international syndicated loan market. This involves originating, structuring, underwriting, executing and syndicating a wide variety of capital-raising transactions across Asia.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct effective credit risk management of credit risk for assigned portfolio of cases, including balancing business requirements within acceptable credit risk appetite.
  • Develop, streamline and improve credit and monitoring processes to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
  • Contribute to improve team revenue through marketing of DBS's services to FI clients.
  • Perform counterparty risk assessments, review accounts and recommend limits for new / existing financial institution counterparties in accordance to credit policies.
  • Review credit-related documentation issues and assess collateral acceptability.
  • Partner with business units to assess country’s credit / business strategy for credit clearance
  • Evaluate adhoc requests.
Requirements
  • Dipoma / Degree holder, preferably with more than 3 years of credit experience.
  • Good working knowledge of treasury, investment and other banking products.
  • Good knowledge of corporate credit risk of international bond issuers as well as specific credit risk of trading and investing in such instruments.
  • Possesses positive attitude and strong sense of ownership of results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with business partners.
  • Understand business needs and able to strike a balance between requests and limits constraints.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Open Minded and ability to think out-of-the-box, and look at credit exposure not necessarily from the traditional sense.
